With accelerating rates of species extinction and habitat loss throughout the world, conservation initiatives will become increasingly important on a local and global level. Our partnerships with international conservation groups such as the San Diego Zoological Society provide opportunities for these conservation and educational initiatives on a dramatic and innovative scale.

Al Ain Zoo is a proud member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquaria (WAZA) and has set up a number of strategic partnerships with leading zoos, conservation agencies and associations from across the world, including

Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, the World Conservation Union and Species Survival Commission, San Diego Zoo, Edinburgh Zoo, the Northern Rangelands Trust of Kenya and the Sahara Conservation Fund.

Additionally, a 20-year exclusive agreement with San Diego Zoological Society will be instrumental in the expansion project, advising on all aspects, especially those related to the wildlife within the project.
